Cody Nelson
Event Manager, Coronado Speed Festival
Cody Nelson works for the Fleet Week San Diego Foundation as the Event Coordinator. Cody’s responsibilities include coordinating the Sea & Air Parade, Star Spangled Salute and the Coronado Speed Festival. Although she enjoys all three events, Cody says her favorite one would have to be the Coronado Speed Festival. She has been with the foundation since January 2007.
At 12-years-old, Cody became the Youngest Finisher of the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim by completing 28.5 miles. She currently holds the world record.
Cody received her Bachelor of Science. in Human Services from Springfield College in Massachusetts in addition to completing the Event Management Certificate Program at University of San Diego. She and her husband, Aaron Nelson, reside in Mission Valley and are expecting their first child in December 2008. |
