Ray Roth
Coronado Speed Festival
Ray Roth’s commitment to the military
is evident in the fact that he serves on several committees
and boards that pay tribute to San Diego's sailors, marines
and military families, and he has served on the Coronado
Speed Festival committee since its inception in 1997 as the
chair of the event’s operations.
Ray is committed to the community and
was recently elected president of the Navy League’s Pacific
Southwest Region. He is also involved in the San Diego
Council Navy League of the U.S. military affairs vice
president and served as the past president, the San Diego
Military Advisory Council (SDMAC) military support
committee. He was also the first board of directors’ chair
of the San Diego Chapter of Operation Homefront, as well as
the treasurer for this group, and dedicated his time as the
chair of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce Military
Affairs Advisory Committee quality of life and veteran’s
affairs group. He also assists several other civic,
religious and charitable organizations including the Boy
Scouts and San Dieguito Methodist Church.
Professionally, Ray
is the Principal of PCR Systems, Inc., a company which
provides computer and network services to corporate clients
in southern California and Baltimore, MD regions. He also
was a professor and department chair at San Diego State
University from 1985-89.
He served in the
U.S. Army as an aviator and infantry officer, and his
service years included combat service, earning 2 Bronze
Stars and 30 Air Medals plus 14 other personal decorations
as well as Senior Aviator, Canadian Pilot, and Parachutist
badges.
Ray's education
includes an MBA from Duquesne University, a bachelor of
science degree from New York State University, and several
professional computer and management seminars. He graduated
from Anaheim High School and started college at the
University of California at Irvine before being drafted into
the Army.
He enjoys golf,
backpacking, the beach and family activities in addition to
being an avid Chargers and Padres fan. Ray is not married,
lives in Oceanside, CA, and has grown children in Laguna
Niguel and Yorba Linda.
